This conversation with Renelle forced me to reflect on growing up and the manner in which music was listened to in the 80s & 90s. I’d forgotten how much I appreciated being able to listen to music and the portability of it; it was of no consequence that I had to change batteries mid-song or flip a cassette over at the end of side A; it felt like I had the whole world when I listened to my music. There is such a feel to listening to music via other means aside from streaming that houses a profound interaction; well, you’ll hear what I mean once you press play!
