I thought that since so many indie artists struggle with being able to acquire consistent radio airplay, I would invite veteran plugger and founder of both The Pluggin’ Baby and Get Radio Airplay, Emma Scott, to my Femme Fatale series — to engage in a very honest dialogue about the music industry. There are mentions of sleezy individuals who only want to take your money and pretend to plug your music, as a serious buyer beware. Which is exactly why I wanted to interview Emma; she is a strong advocate for radio and integrity with regard to ensuring each artist she represents receives exceptional plugging services. Now, with Get Radio Airplay, artists can plug their own music, in our advanced DIY culture, in a way that benefits them. A songwriter/singer, muscian’s life is already difficult enough; this should not be something someone should have to struggle for!
