As the post-academic semester starts to wind down, many post-secondary students feel the strain of final assignments and exams. Stress, anxiety, and negative thoughts can feel overwhelming, but sometimes a little creativity and humour can help.
That’s why 213 Ways to Kill a Cockroach exists: as a playful tool to help cope with Negative Automatic Thoughts (NATs), anxiety, and depression in a creative fashion. With a story that goes back to one friend trying to help another through a difficult time. The purpose of 213 Ways to Kill a Cockroach is to ensure a very safe space to release any thoughts of self-harm by expressing the demise of a creature throughout history that was impossible to kill. It is an unconventional approach to writing that offers a way of contending with overwhelming moments. I have had many individuals share that this methodology has assisted them through difficult times. It is a tool, more so a bridge to transport one from point a to b in moments of trepidation.
While youth mental health statistics are sobering, today we want to focus on something lighthearted. Melaris in Print and I are thrilled to give away 5 ebooks!
