The nine Muses: Calliope, Clio, Polyhymnia, Euterpe, Terpsichore, Erato, Melpomene,
Thalia, and Urania fascinate me! A couple of the classes I had in high school,
Humanities and Mythology, rooted me early in life for a love of the arts. I’ve learned to
appreciate the different mediums that art emulates. I find sculptures impressive,
especially when they’re made out of marble. The classic art piece, The Dance of the
Muses on Helicon, is whimsical, extraordinary, and beautiful. I imagine the marvel of
getting to see it in person.

This International Women’s Day, the Muses are calling to my creativity and artistic
abilities. The power of femininity and imagination that exudes from the many muses, fills
my core with ambition and inclinations to dance, sing, and write. Also, they motivate me
to celebrate, support, and explore the gifts of artistry that other creators embody, by
attending the following: concerts, poetry readings, dance performances, and art
exhibits.

I relish the idea of what it would be like if I was a part of this tribe of incredible women.
What an abundance of talent and what an influence the collective would mark upon my

existence. Each as a teacher which unlocks the element and essence of their brilliant trait.
The possibilities for expanding knowledge and inventiveness seem never-ending.

I invite you to absorb the flow of creative inspiration and apply it to your own current
endeavors. Which of the nine Muses do you relate to? Which one prompts you to create
or exercise and enhance your artistry? What impressions do the Muses have on your
creative process(es)?
