A fractured identity can bring with it a plethora of complications. When it is time to contemplate all the things that occur in the small corners of the human mind the realisation of ridiculous thought completely ensues. In attempt to protect the core we as human beings write things off that should never be; the capacity for love in its most authentic mode shunned and pushed away. I never quite understood human beings who thought they have everything together and postulate a “no fucks given” attitude. 

Over the last year and a half, I have transitioned from a pathway that led to a PhD in Clinical Psychology, to one that ends in a simple Music Business Management Diploma, upon completion of my Honours Bachelor Behavioural Science undergraduate degree. There is something to be said about beginning on one road and ending up on something that is utterly different than the original course of direction. What does this have to do with identity and “no fucks given” you might think? It is our covert perception that leads and guides us through this world to select something that is right for us.  If our identity is fractured, if we are not living our best life that causes a certain level of contention that frightens human into a submission that renders the mind to be locked in a gilded cage. Although, pretty, with clean golden lines, it is a trap by design to keep us small, to keep the human spirit in a constant sense of imbalance and fear. We are constantly told in our counselling classes a little fear helps to enhance our trajectory. That it makes us significantly braver creatures. There are going to be moments where our identity is questioned and contorted by those who wish to maim. Revenge sought to manifest happiness is not revenge, only distilled happiness in the end remains with a pure intent. Just a little Zen on Christmas Eve.
