honestly
i never envisioned
the adversity
i\’ve experienced
to be a gift
i was incredibly wrong
under the impression
this was a punishment
for something
i\’d done in another
life
the concept of strength
riddled with calamity
ensures a well balanced
tale housed with a myriad
of paths which veer
in too many directions
this has made me realise
truly NOTHING happens
without a reason
at times we are fortunate
and know what those
are — during other stages
we have to spend
hours with fixated
optics as each granule
of sugar drops to chronicle
the time of a hesitant life
no longer fearful
an effigy which shifts
with each zephyr that
swirls around
